Author Biography: Antanas J. Van Reenan holds a doctorate in intellectual history from the University of Chicago and presently teaches American History at Columbia College. He also is project director of "Urban Agenda: Five Stars Over Chicago", a model Afro-American Saturday School System on the south side of Chicago.
