Blast off to a thrilling action-packed adventure in outer space!

Babar's fame has spread to the farthest corner of the universe—as he discovers when he and his family are abducted by aliens! Fortunately, the aliens are friendly, if a little strange-looking. And they have built remarkable floating cities, with swimming pools in their living rooms! As Arthur says, "Truly, these elephants with curly ears know how to live!"//Everything goes smoothly at first...but soon cultural differences cut the royal visit short. Will Babar and his family find a way to get home to Celesteville—right away?

Originally published in 1972, Babar Visits Another Planet has valuable lessons of tolerance and acceptance for our times. And the exciting outer-space story will keep young readers enthralled until the very last blast-off!

Publishers Weekly

Two of Laurent de Brunhoff's tales of Babar, originally created by his father, Jean de Brunhoff, are available once more: Babar's Counting Book (1986), in which Babar counts from "1 big bird" to 10 storks flying overhead (the penultimate spread extends the fun to 20 elephants); and Babar and his family take a rocket past the moon and Mars to an uncharted destination covered with caramel in Babar Visits Another Planet (1972).
