Sweet Briar goes to school Book

This is such a very adorable book! My 2 year old granddaughter and I completely enjoyed not only the story but the illustrations as well. This is a great book for a child starting school being insecure and scared. But also a very great book for being bullied.

Sweet Briar is a skunk. Her parents love her very much and named her after the most sweetest thing they knew and that was the sweet briar roses that smelled so sweet and was so pretty. Sweet Briar grew up happy and became old enough to go to school. When she gets there no one wants to be her friend when the teacher is out of ear shot they make fun of her and make her feel horrible. This goes on for several days and her parents worry about her because they know something isn't right at school. However on the next day they are allowed outside to play. BUT as the meanest kid is calling her names a big wolf jumps out and captures him! Everyone is scared except Sweet Briar she knew exactly what to do! She not only saved the little boy (although he had been nothing but mean to her) but the entire class as well. They then realize that she is in fact as sweet as her name and it's not what a person looks like that makes them a friend but what is on their heart!

A really very well written book that I will add to our list for our own private library.
