Recovering Judaism: The Universal Dimension of Judaism
I was very disappointed with this book. I bought it expecting an in-depth look at Judaism, the history and the culture and how it relates and enforces vegetarian beliefs. However, the book is arranged in quite a different way. It quotes a sentence or two from the bible and then comments on the excerpt with a sentence or two which goes more or less like, "According to this, God does not want us eating meat". The book continues pulling verses out of the bible and interpreting them in this way. I was very very disappointed and didn't even waste my time reading the whole thing, flipping through, I came to the conclusion that there wasn't anything deep or remotely interesting in the book, I placed it down and started thinking about where I had put the receipt so I could return it.
