Becoming a Goddess of Inner Poise: Spirituality for the Bridget Jones in All of Us
I had high hopes for this book. First, I hoped it would justify my affinity for chick lit, requiring that I continue reading the gems of this genre). Next, I like Freitas' work, so I expected better.
I was disappointed--it was v. hard to get into the Bridget-speak (v. annoying). But more than that, as someone who does embrace and live life according to an organized religion, I felt dismissed by her claims that 20- and 30-something women have abandoned traditional religion. That's simply not the case in my experience, and I felt she didn't take that option into consideration.
