Atomic Processes in Plasmas: 13th APS Topical Conference on Atomic Processes in Plasmas Book

Held in April 2002, the conference on atomic processes in plasmas resulted in 34 oral presentations. Twenty-nine of these are included in this volume by the chairs and co-chairs of the conference, scientists from the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (US). The papers are organized into sections devoted to low temperature plasmas, inertial confinement fusion, atomic and molecular physics, astrophysics, x-ray sources, and magnetic confinement fusion. Specific topics include evolution of cold Ryberg atoms into an ultracold plasma, the production of exotic satellite structures in short pulse laser heated foils, ion- implantation-related atomic collision studies at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory multicharged ion research facility, and helioseismic tests of radiative opacities.
