Butterflies in the Garden Book

This is an informational children's picture book with lots of colorful illustrations depicting different types of flowers and butterflies. An interesting and fun part of this book that is mentioned on the inside front cover is that every butterfly that is mentioned in this book can be found on the endpapers, which is about 20 butterflies on each end of the book. This can be a fun activity to do with a class or a child, where the student can point out and recognize all the different butterfly species when they see them throughout the book. This book includes a lot of information on different types of species of butterflies, butterfly characteristics, and different flowers that butterflies enjoy. However, I struggled with getting engaged in this book. Other nonfiction children's picture books that I have read have a storyline about whatever animal it is focused on and embeds details and information throughout the book. This book does not have a storyline and only gives information on butterflies, which is great if that is what you are looking for; however, I prefer a storyline to grab my attention along with descriptions and details.
