Nora Helmer, wife to Torvald and mother of three children, appears to enjoy living the life of a pampered, indulged child. Frank McGuinness's version of A Doll's House received its London premiere in October 1996 and opened on Broadway in 1997, where the production won four Tony Awards.

A Doll's House: A New Version by Frank McGuinness
I admit that I didn't know what exactly was going on with this play, until the very end. It didn't help that the culture portrayed in the play is much older than our modern times, being set in 1879. However, I went along with it; after all, it's short and much can be handled when the readings are short.
My copy is a 'new version by Frank McCuinness', and since I haven't read the 'original' version, I have no idea how different from the original this copy is.
The story involves a woman, her husband, a friend of hers, and another man of shady character who works with her husband. The wife makes a bad decision regarding her husband's health which affects her life and many others' forevermore. I'm not sure if the same decision would result in the same ending in our modern day, though I could see it still happening.
