Bruce Catton's America Book

Catton is such a gifted, eloquent writer. He is expert at breathing life and feeling into history with his prose. This non-fiction book reads like a novel in many places. You feel as if you're sitting in the same room, or civil war field tent, with the characters such as Lee, Grant, Sherman, Jeff Davis, and of course Lincoln.
This book is a sort of Greatest Hits collection of Catton's finest writings. Some from his stellar Civil War trilogy, which is continually lauded among War buffs as being one of the finest ever. This book is pretty much a Don't Miss for CW buffs like myself. I didn't want the stories to end.
