Invisible work, invisible workers Book

The purpose of this book is to highlight contemporary changes in the world of work and employment by exploring the nature and significance of the informal economy in Western Europe and the United States. Particular attention is given to the informal employment of women, ethnic minorities, children, and the unemployed. Complementary forms of work outside employment are also considered in order to illustrate the changing boundaries between work and employment and the formal and informal economy.
