One Hundred Bottles
Tells the main character Z's story as she falls in love with an abusive man and interacts with her friends. I didn't get too much of a feel of Cuba except for some noisy raucous apartments but her friends were quite entertaining. There is a lot of domestic violence in the book and I found that very hard to read but the story grew on me over time. I think the translation was done well.
