Rubber-Legged Ducky
This book would be a good example to help explain to kids that not everyone is the same. "Five" is different from all of the others ducks in the way that he does not quack and does not have regular legs. Fives legs are made of rubber caused by the mother duck eating a rubber band prior to laying her eggs. Although five is different he becomes helpful to all of the other ducks on the farm saving all of them from a fox. This story would be good for a first grade classroom and gives a good example to show children that they can be special no matter how different they are from everyone else.
