Victimology: A Study of Crime Victims and Their Roles Book

It was upon reading this encyclopedia and getting to know Merril through writing groups, that I asked if she would consider writing the hugely important foreword to the Anthology We Will Not Be Silenced (2018). The caliber and insight of Smith's writing and knowledge is outstandingly high and I felt there was no-one more qualified or capable of writing an introduction. Fortunately for me and all the other collaborators of this incredible anthology, Merril agreed because she really is a writer who puts her values first. As a result our collaboration has been on the #1 best seller list of Amazon for weeks. Having read The Encyclopedia of Rape and been a Psychotherapist working in Rape Crisis Centers, I can highly recommend this publication AND any work Merril Smith undertakes. She is professional, vastly intelligent and has made huge strides in rape-and-sexual-assault-awareness. The Encyclopedia is one such example, giving a literal history of rape which is invaluable for any studying for example to be social workers, psychologists, psychiatrists, working with survivors in any capacity or educators. Additionally this is a superb collection for academics and students, studying violence, sexual assault, gender studies, feminism or history in general. I cannot recommend it more highly. Yes it is a difficult subject but Merril Smith makes such a subject both accessible and available, which is how things change in any stigma loaded arena.
