Air Force Major-General Abraham Bowmaker knows he has to do something to end the atrocity in Bosnia before the fighting spreads throughout Europe. His plan is both deviously simple and devilishly complex — insert a specialist team to capture a senior general of the forces committing the atrocities, and display him publicly to the ridicule of the world, thus ensuring the ultimate destruction of his power at home.

There is only one person in all of clandestine operations who has the guts, the contacts, and the experience to lead such an assault. MacAIlister — a Marine Sergeant who has put herself in the line of fire more than once, and who will do so again. But even as she prepares herself and the November unit for the dangerous mission ahead, MacAllister has already been compromised.
