I personally did not find the film recollections interesting as I'm not into that sort of thing. I agreed with more or less all of his opinions Fraser expresses about the modern world in this book, the part about Scotland particularly touched me as, like Fraser I too am connected with both England and Scotland. It is when Fraser describes the past he is crosses to the near sublime be he describing his Granny imparting highland tales of old as the sun sets over the hills or the final days of the Raj in India. It's enough to bring a tear tae your e'e.
