This ls small but comprehensive flora accompanied me on every holiday for many years. Through it I discovered new varieties of compositae and ranunculus and campanulacae etc etc. Thank goodness we are beginning to see the decline of the aggressive and unnecessary roadside spraying that has decimated some of the last stands of some of our native wild wild flowers.

It is so sad that few children today can identify more than a buttercup and daisy but their knowledge of computer games and characters of dubious worth is encyclopaedic. Is it too late to redress the balance?
